A couple of city slickers who've been working in the tech industry for several years without taking more than a 2-week vacation escape at a time. We were feeling stuck in our routine and craved freedom and exploration. We wanted to intentionally live our lives, see more of the world, and grow from new experiences. We knew it was time for us to embark on a new adventure.

We decided to take a year off work for a road trip across North America! In March 2021, we bought a Toyota 4Runner Venture that would be our new home on wheels. It was time to get to work. We watched a lot of YouTube videos to prepare, researched different builds and finally settled on a design for our overlanding rig.

By June we quit our jobs, sold our stuff, packed up, and hit the road! With minimal camping experience, we had a ton of questions when we started planning. How will we get power? What do we need to stay warm? Where will we pee?! Living out of your vehicle full-time can be daunting for a nature newbie.

We hope that by sharing our journey and experiences, we can give you a realistic idea of what to expect, inspire you to explore, and make it easier for you to get started.
